You can request your StarsCard directly from Lottomaticard-enabled retailers. You can also apply online, but you will still have to pick up your card from a sales point.

To obtain a StarsCard, you will have to provide a copy of your identification and sign a contract with Lottomatica at the sales point. The retailer will enter the data into the system and print the contract. You will then have to sign the printed contract and return the physical copy back to the retailer. A copy of the contract will be given to you as well.

The activation cost of the card is €6.50. The commission for each top up is €1.00 (free if you top up for an amount over €400). Withdrawals are free of charge at Banca Sella ATMs, €1.50 at Lottomaticard outlets, €1.75 at other bank ATMs in other Euro countries, and €3.00 at ATMs in non-Euro countries. The annual fee, starting from the second year, is €5. Block Commission is €2. The cost of the SMS alert depends on the price charged by your service provider.

Yes. The maximum balance you can hold on a StarsCard is €10,000.00.

CartaLis will send you a check for the full amount of your cashout instead of crediting your StarsCard. Partial credits to your StarsCard will not be made.

You can top up with cash or debit card at any Lottomaticard outlet, providing you bring a valid form of ID and your fiscal code. You can also top up via bank transfer. Please follow the instructions mentioned below when making a bank transfer:

Beneficiary: Name on card (eg. John Smith)
IBAN: This is personalized and is indicated on the back of your card (eg IT 01 T 12000 00000 00034 0AAA000)

You can check the card balance and your transactions online using Internet banking, or by calling customer service. You can also request a statement from a Lottomaticard store, asking for "Info conto" ("account info"). Using the service area, you can also activate the SMS alert service, view shopping memos, real time balance and your last three transactions. A yearly statement is made available online, starting from April 1 the following year (eg. 2011 account statement will be made available online from April 1, 2012). A paper format statement can also be requested via e-mail (starscard@cartalis.it) or by calling 199888777, or 39.015.243.46.44* from abroad. 
The cost of the printed statement is €2. 

The service is open Monday-Saturday, from 07.30 to 22.00, Sundays and holidays from 08.00 to 20.00. Cost from landlines: 9.91 cents per minute. Cost from a mobile phone: TIM 15.49 cents per minute to call + 28.51; Vodafone call + 40.28 12.40 cents per minute, Wind 12.40 + 42.00 per-minute response, three cents to 15.00 + 48.00 per-minute response.

If there are movements in your transactions list not displaying their number of operations and the accounting date, that refers to operations not completed yet, or authorized but still to be confirmed. If confirmation does not arrive because a financial transaction has been denied or cancelled, the amount will remain pending and will be available again on the card after 30 days of operation.

The IBAN associated with your card is printed on the back of your card. You can also find the IBAN online at www.lottomaticard.it in the 'Restricted Area' within the service area, under tab 'show my IBAN' tab. It's also listed on all receipts issued at Lottomaticard retailers for activation, charging, withdrawing, account information, transfers and other transactions.

You can use StarsCard to withdraw money outside of Italy. You will be charged €1.75 in Euro countries and €3.00 in all other countries.

It is a code released upon activation of the card, and is shown on the receipt issued by the Lottomaticard retailer.

A PIN (Personal Identification Number) must be used for purchases at retailers, for cash withdrawals at ATMs, and at Lottomaticard retail outlets.

A PUK must be used along with the card number to access statements and balance information, and during the process of requesting an activation code so that you can log in to the secure Online Area and activate SMS alerts. You will find your PIN and PUK numbers on the letter on which your StarsCard is attached.

If you lose your PIN code, login into the Internet Banking Area by entering the activation code and the PUK. Once logged in, you can request a reminder of the PIN, which will be sent by mail to the address shown on the signed contract.

If you lose the PIN and PUK after the card was activated, and you have Internet Banking codes, log-in with your details to the Internet Banking page and request a reprint of the PIN and PUK. The codes will be sent by mail to the address of residence listed on the signed contract. 

If you lose the PIN and PUK after the card was activated, but you have not activated the Internet Banking Service, please contact Customer Service via phone or via fax to request a duplicate copy of the codes. Customer Services Representative will send you the PIN and PUK codes by mail to the address of residence listed on the signed contract.
