Self-exclusion: stop gambling

Take a break from gambling or stop playing all together in a few simple steps. Below you'll find information about our exclusion tools and how they work.

How does self-exclusion work?

The exclusion tool can help you take healthy breaks when needed. There two types of self-exclusion periods you can choose from:

  • Short exclusions: Take a break between 12 hours up to 120 days. Once this time has passed, you'll be able to play with us again by logging in to your account.
  • Extended exclusions: Take a break for at least 6 months. Once this time has passed, contact us, and we'll help you reinstate your account.

If you want to know more about the rules that apply to you, visit our website's Responsible Gaming section.

What is a national self-exclusion (Registro Unico Degli Autoesclusi)?

On our site, you can choose to exclude yourself from playing on a national level for 30, 60, and 90-days. Or, you can choose an indefinite self-exclusion that will last for at least six months. Choosing one of these exclusions will restrict you from playing on all licensed operators in Italy.

We can also register you into the National Self-Exclusion scheme by emailing wecare@starsaccount.it with the subject line 'National Self-Exclusion'. Include how long (30 days/60 days/90 days/indefinite) you want to be on the National Exclusion List in your reply. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to manually process this request.

Alternatively, you can register yourself for a national self-exclusion directly on the Registro Unico Degli Autoesclusi website.

What happens when my national exclusion is over?

Your account will automatically become active again the day after your 30-, 60- or 90-day national self-exclusion expires.

If you've chosen the Indefinite exclusion and it's been at least six months since you excluded yourself, contact us, and we'll help reinstate your account manually. If the request to reinstate the account is approved, you'll have to wait seven days (168 hours) before you can play at our site again.

If you're registered with Registro Unico Degli Autoesclusi and want to remove yourself from the scheme, contact them directly, and they'll help you.

How do I apply a self-exclusion to my account?

Follow the instructions below depending on the device you're using:

  • Desktop: Tools → Responsible Gaming → Exclude Me From Playing
  • Mobile: Account → Responsible Gaming Settings → Exclude Me From Playing

If you're on our website, you can pick this button:

When will I be able to play again?

Once you ask for and confirm a self-exclusion, we can't reverse your decision. You'll be able to enjoy our games again when the exclusion expires. Check the email you received when you excluded your account to know the specific time. Depending on the limit period you chose, the email subject lines to search for are:

  • Cool-offs (12 hours up to 24 hours): "Account - Cooling-off period approved."
  • Time-out (7 days up to 120 days): "Account - Time-out period approved."
  • Exclusion (6 months or more): "Self-Exclusion Request Approved."

What can and can't I do during a self-exclusion?

During your exclusion period, you'll still be able to log in to your account and make withdrawals. But you won't be able to make deposits and play any games. You'll also be unregistered from tournaments that start during this period, and you won't receive marketing emails or newsletters for us.

How do I know if self-excluding is right for me?

Here are some useful questions to help evaluate your gambling habits.

  • Did you ever lose time from work or school because of gambling?
  • Has playing caused you to neglect your or your family's welfare?
  • Have you ever sold anything or borrowed money to be able to gamble?
  • Have you often played until your last money was gone?
  • Have you ever played longer than you had planned?
  • Have you ever considered self-harm as a result of your gambling?

If you answered "Yes" to even one of these questions, we encourage you to visit Gamblers Anonymous and consider taking a break from playing online.

You can also take tests about your gambling habits at one of the following websites:
GamCare - A self-assessment tool
NCPG gambling - Screening tools

How can I identify risks of a gambling problem?

You can identify and reduce risks before they develop into a gambling problem. We've created guidelines on how to be more mindful when gambling; read about them in the article "Guidelines for Responsible Gaming."

Can I restrict or block a specific game?

Yes. By using our tools, you'll be able to restrict or entirely block access to games, set up limits, and manage your playing experience.

You can read more about the tools and features available by going to:

  • Help → Responsible Gaming → Restrict Limit Feature or Game Restrictions

What happens if I have any open bets?

If you have an open bet while self-excluding your account, we'll settle it as normal.

You can find more information at the Responsible Gaming section of our website here.
